About Us
Mike graduated from the University of Guelph in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Agronomy. He worked in a number of agriculture related jobs including custom application operator, research agronomist, and crop inputs salesperson. He also managed the Exeter branch of the Hensall District Co-operative, which operated a fertilizer blender, chemical warehouse, and grain elevator. He has written Nutrient Management Plans for livestock operations and held a seed corn dealership. Michael is active as a Director on the Board of the Innovative Farmer’s of Ontario as well as participating on the Ontario Weeds Committee and the Grain Farmers of Ontario Precision Farming Research Working Group. He specializes in agronomics and has a strong proficiency with computers and precision farming equipment and strategies.
Geoff has a profound understanding of all electro/mechanical and robotic/automation systems and the programming and maintenance of such. He has consulted and trained domestically and internationally on laser and robotic manufacturing systems. Bringing a unique skill set to the farming operation, Geoff sees remarkable opportunity in the farming community for the grassroots implementation and support of robotic/automation, remote sensing, and precision farming technologies. In this regard, he would like Strang Farms to take a leadership role in our community and beyond.
Keith graduated from the University of Guelph, Ontario Agricultural College in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He has farmed for over 40 years and benefits the operations with the knowledge obtained from that length of experience. Keith has been active as director on several provincial organizations including the Ontario Vegetable Growers Marketing Board and the Agricultural Commodity Corporation. He is currently involved as President of the Board at the Hensall District Co-operative.
Sandra has provided personal and financial support to Keith’s farming career, while also working full time in local government. She held the position of Clerk-Treasurer and Tax Collector for the Township of Usborne while earning her Diploma in Local Government Administration. She advanced her career to become Clerk of Usborne Township and eventually the Municipal Clerk and Office Manager for the Municipality of South Huron. Sandra held this position until her retirement seven years ago. She continues to support the farm operation through bookkeeping, grandchild care, and providing important nutrition and transportation services to those working in the fields.
Jennifer holds a Diploma in Hotel and Resort Management and a Degree in Professional Communications. She worked at vacation resorts in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and the Cayman Islands before establishing a career as a freelance technical writer at JJ Ink Writing Services. After spending years in Western Canada and abroad, she returned to the Exeter area in 2015 and now provides administrative support and manual labour on the farm. Additionally, she works as a grain inspector at a local grading and testing lab and continues to write and edit as a freelancer.
