Professional Advice
We recognize that our business benefits by working with outside experts and advisors. Our company has a close relationship with our accountant who counsels us on issues such as taxes, succession planning, and business management. For the sale of our products, we use the services of a professional marketing consultant. With his advice we apply a combination of grain price mitigation measures such as forward contracting and futures and options contracts in order to maximize returns and reduce risk.
Drying and Storage
The grain dryer, elevator, and storage bins constructed over the past 10 years have proven to be of considerable benefit to our operation. We are able to reduce our drying costs significantly compared to fees charged by commercial grain elevators. We also offer custom grain drying services. The storage bins provide us with greater marketing flexibility and eliminate commercial elevator storage fees.
