Field Mapping

All our vehicles are equipped with GPS-enabled application controllers. Every time we apply products to a field (fertilizers, seeds, or crop protection products) our equipment creates a data log of the exact place and rate those products are applied. Our combine harvester has a grain yield monitor to record our crop yields as we move across the field.

We then use these maps to understand the land better and know how to improve for the following year. We are happy to share these maps with our land owners and customers.

Over the years, we have evaluated and used several different methods to map the nutrient status of our fields and crops as well as soil properties. This information is used to create our variable rate fertilizer and seeding prescriptions. Some examples are Electromagnetic Induction, SoilOptix, and AgLeader OptRx technologies. We have found these methods each have their merits, but not one tool works for all fields.
